AB - The analysis of the supercapacitive properties of an aligned multiwalled nanotubes (MWNT) conducting polymer composites and the benefits conferred by the nanostructural control offered by these films were presented. Analysis of the films after polymerization using transmission electron microsope (TEM) and a field emission gun scanning electron microscope (SEM) confirmed that polypyrrole (PPy) formed a continous layer over the length and tips of each MWNT in the aligned array. The results suggested that arrays of aligned MWNTs coated with conducting polymer composites were well suited to energy storage applications and for use in devices like sensors that would benefit from the combination of properties.
