Summary

Dr Matthieu Toulemonde is a Research Associate in the Department of Bioengineering, Imperial College London. He joined the Ultrasound Laboratory for Imaging and Sensing (ULIS) since 2015 and his current research interests include contrast-enhanced ultrasound, breast cancer imaging, myocardium perfusion, nanodroplets flow imaging, 3D imaging and ultrafast contrast cardiac imaging.

Lymph Node

Intravenous flow visualization of ultrasound contrast agent in an armpit lymph node and its corresponding microvasculature.

Cardiac HFR CE

Conventional focus CE acquisition versus the HFR CE method proposed

Dr Matthieu Toulemonde supports clinician and PhD student in the KORTUC Phase II project for the acquisition of breast cancer ultrasound contrast imaging; on gut's trial using ultrasound contrast agent; acquire and support clinician on the High Frame Rate Ultrasound in Heart Disease Assessment [REC 19/LO/0624].

He is also the safety laboratory delegate of the ULIS group writing standard operating procedures, acquisition scripts of the Verasonics ultrasound research scanner, protocols and supervising laboratory and equipment inductions.

Previously, he received the bachelor’s degree in physics and chemistry in 2009, and the master’s degree in optics, image and signal processing in 2011 from l’Université Jean Monnet de Saint-Étienne, France and the Ph.D. degree from l’Université Lyon 1, France, and Università degli Studi di Firenze, Italy, with a focus on beamforming and nonlinearity parameter estimation in 2014. His Ph.D. research is realized in co-agreement between the Centre de Recherche en Acquisition et Traitement de l’Image pour la Santé (CREATIS), Lyon, France, and the MSD Laboratory, Florence, Italy. He worked as a Teaching and Research Fellow in the Université Lyon 1, France in 2015.
