Summary
I graduated from Chemical Engineering Department at National University of Trujillo (Peru) and obtained an MSc in Analytical Chemistry from Birkbeck College, University of London (2005). My interest in Environmental Sciences led me to pursue an Engineering Doctorate in Environmental Chemistry (STREAM) from Newcastle University completed in 2017. However, along my years of working experience, I specialised in developing and validating new analytical methods to quantitate organic compounds (organo-halogenated, amines, carboxylic acids, amino acids and lipids) from diverse types of environmental and biological samples using techniques such as FTIR, UV, fluorescence, UPLC-MS/MS and UPLC-QTOF. As a Research Associate at Imperial College, I am optimizing derivatisation, ion-pairing and direct reverse phase methodologies for Mass Spectrometry to identify and quantitate metabolites (metabolomics) to investigate metabolic pathways related to Nutrition, Microbiome and Gut Health Themes at the Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction
