I am a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Charing Cross Hospital and lead the Computational Oncology group at Imperial College, based jointly between the Dept. of Computing and Division of Surgery & Cancer.

We are interested in mathematical and computational approaches to clinical problems, including the use of machine learning, computational argumentation and the use of clinical 'big data'. In particular, we are interested in improving access to and use of clinical data, with the aim of developing and applying computational techniques to these data.

We talk about our work on the lab blog. I currently supervise 5 PhD/ MD students, as well as MRes & MSc student projects. We are open to supervising UG student projects, but would encourage students to apply through schemes such as the RCR SURF program.

I have held several local & national positions. I was previously Clinical Lead for QA at NCRAS and a Macmillan Advisor on Cancer data. I currently chair the RCR QI & Audit committee for clinical oncology. I am on the PC for IEEE CBMS. I also teach on the ESTRO course on Evidence-based Radiation Oncology.

Clinically, I specialise in the treatment of primary and metastatic adult brain tumours, delivering radiotherapy and chemotherapy including IMRT and stereotactic radiotherapy. We have a strong track record of research and innovation: we are one of the largest clinical trial sites in neuro-oncology in the UK, have developed and led a number of trials, but have also pioneered the introduction of Optune for brain tumours in the UK, as well as clinical applications of Whole Exome Sequencing in neuro-oncology.

We have developed and led a number of trials, including the BrainWear trial, Capable study, BrainApp and INDIGO-Community.

Significant previous & current data-led work includes the Simulacrum and GlioCova.
