I lead the Computational Oncology group at Imperial College, based jointly between the Dept. of Computing and Division of Surgery & Cancer.
We are interested in mathematical and computational approaches to clinical problems, including the use of machine learning, computational argumentation and the use of clinical 'big data'. In particular, we are interested in improving access to and use of clinical data, with the aim of developing and applying computational techniques to these data.
We talk about our work on the lab blog. I currently supervise 5 PhD/ MD students, as well as MRes & MSc student projects. We are open to supervising UG student projects, but would encourage students to apply through schemes such as the RCR SURF program.
I have held several local & national positions. I was previously Clinical Lead for QA at NCRAS and a Macmillan Advisor on Cancer data. I currently chair the RCR QI & Audit committee for clinical oncology. I am on the PC for IEEE CBMS
Clinically, I deliver radiotherapy and chemotherapy to patient with brain and spinal tumours, including IMRT and stereotactic radiotherapy. My clinical work is based at Charing Cross hospital, and we have a strong clinical-research link, including the BrainWear trial.
