Nicolo is a PhD student in the Finance Department at Imperial College London.

His primary research focus is in Macro-Finance, where he works at the intersection of Macroeconomics and Theoretical Asset Pricing. His secondary research focus is in Empirical Asset Pricing. He is also interested in fixed income securities and financial derivatives and is a member of the Asset Pricing Research Group. Currently, he is developing a theoretical model for optimal monetary policy, and machine learning algorithms for the prediction of recovery rates on NPLs. His research is supervised by Harjoat Bhamra and Franklin Allen, and is funded by the President’s PhD Scholarship. 

Nicolo holds a BSc in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University, a MA in Finance from the University of St Gallen, and an MRes in Finance from Imperial College. During his studies, he has been a visiting student at the University of California Los Angeles and Cornell University.

Nicolo interned three times at Deutsche Bank, both in Zurich and London, where he most recently worked as a quantitative researcher on the Exotic rates trading desk.
