Summary

Summary

I am a first-year PhD student completing a MRes PhD (1 3) programme in Epidemiology, Evolution and Control of Infectious Diseases at the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, supervised by Dr Katy Gaythorpe, Prof Nicholas Grassly and Dr Margarita Pons Salort. I am interested in vaccine equity, and my work aims to identify factors related to poor vaccine coverage.

For my MRes year, I firstly worked under the supervision of Dr Daniel LaydonProf Samir Bhatt and Prof Neil Ferguson assessing the influence of vaccination and sociodemographic factors on the regional variation of COVID-19 transmission in the UK. Following that, I completed a project on modelling the design of Cluster Randomised Trials (CRT), with Prof Nicholas Grassly and Dr Jacob John (CMC Vellore).

I am funded by the MRC Centre for Infectious Diseases Analysis.

Background

I completed a BSc in Biochemistry (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and a MSc in Vaccinology (LIVE Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree). Before joining the Mres PhD programme, I spent one year in the HPRU in Respiratory Infections at Imperial College working in studies assessing SARS-CoV-2 household transmission.
