Summary

Oliver Warren is a consultant general, colorectal and intestinal surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He has an interest in inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer, abdominal wall reconstruction and the techniques of minimal access surgery and enhanced recovery. Prior to becoming a consultant surgeon he undertook colorectal surgery fellowships at St. Mark's Hospital, London and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. In 2013 he was the Association of Coloproctology's visiting fellow at the Cleveland Clinic, USA. In 2012 he was awarded the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland's Gold Medal for outstanding performance in the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons examination.


Oliver is an honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London and has written numerous scie
ntific papers and book chapters on medical leadership, patient safety and surgical education
and is co-author of 'Going into hospital? A guide for patients, carers and families' a book published in 2015. From 2007 to 2014 he was the founder and clinical director of Prepare to Lead, a prize-winning leadership development mentoring programme commissioned by NHS London. In 2010 he was shortlisted for the BMJ's Junior Doctor of the Year award.  He has worked in advisory roles to public, private and third sector organisations at national, regional and local levels since 2008.
