Summary

I qualified in medicine from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 2001. After completing my house jobs and SHO rotation at North West London Hospitals NHS Trust, I won a Fulbright scholarship to undertake a  Masters in Global Public Health at Harvard School of` Public Health. I went on to work at the World Health Organisation and then the King's Fund. I returned to higher specialist training in Cardiology in 2007 and completed my PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Imperial College London funded by a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellowship. On completion of my clinical cardiology training, I led the endocarditis service at the Hammersmith Hospital. I currently work as an Cardiovascular Dieseases Clinical Champion for Harrow at NWL ICB and also hold an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist position at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

My research focuses on identifying geographical variations in cardiovascular disease outcomes across England. I use large, linked, administrative datasets to create pseudo-registries from national data. I then look at patterns of variation in disease after correcting for noise. The analyses that we do are often undertaken in a Bayesian spatial framework. I also look at clustering of risk factors and co-morbidities associated with cardiovascular disease.

You can read more about my work and that of my colleagues on my Google Scholar page and at the Global Environmental Health Research Group homepage.
