Summary

Pantelis is currently a Research Associate at the centre of process systems engineering (PSE) and urban energy systems laboratory at Imperial College of London, an interdisciplinary hub of research with a focus on energy assessment of existing infrastructure and optimization of urban energy systems.

His research focuses primarily on urban energy systems. One important aspect of urban infrastructure is the waste water treatment plants (WWTP's) network topology. Adopting a range of  optimization modelling methodologies such as deterministic as well as genetic, evolutionary and Hybrid Algorithms he uses Darbinian methods to attain optimized results regarding proposed relocation of WWTP's minimization of fresh water consumption that feeds waste water system network and other infrastructure components within existing urban context such as minimum overall operational and capital cost of network. The research is being carried out for the City of Luxembourg.

Pantelis is also owner of a technical bureau where he is engaged as freelance consultant Civil/Structural Engineer and member of iOPTI, an Optimization consulting and design group both Luxembourg based. iOPTI is a multidisciplinary optimization initiative implementing optimization methodologies in different science domains in civil engineering, materials science in both macro and nano scale, bio applications and operational research.
