Summary

Dr Pooja Dassan graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in 2001. She was awarded an MD (Res) in 2009 from University College London, following her research into the release of novel biomarkers into the serum of patients immediately after an acute stroke.

She completed her neurology training at Imperial College Healthcare and the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. She is now a Consultant Neurologist at Imperial College Healthcare trust and has a specialist interest in obstetric neurology. She provides a specialist outpatient and inpatient service for pregnant women with neurological problems, at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. This includes a pre-pregnancy counselling service with up-to-date advice on medications and course of pregnancy for women with pre-existing neurological problems.

She is the course director of a unique Obstetric-Neurology course held at Imperial College London, aimed at neurologists, generalists and obstetricians.
