Summary

Peter is the Managing Director for the Centre for Health Policy at the Institute for Global Health Innovation (IGHI). He also oversees the Patient Safety Research Centre.  

He is on secondment from the Department of Health and Social Care where recent roles included Director of PPE Policy and Strategy and Covid-19 Incident Director.  Before that he was a Director in the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care System. 

Peter has almost 20 years experience working on health policy and is an acknowledged expert on English health policy issues.  He has particular expertise in developing strategies at a national (‘Our health, our care, our say’ White Paper, Qatar National Cancer Strategy) and a regional (Healthcare for London A Framework for Action and the Longer Term Plan for BLMK ICS) level.

He established, and continues to teach on, Imperial's MSc in Health Policy.

Peter is concerned with ensuring IGHI's research has the impact it should on national and international health policy.
