Summary

Pabitra Shakya Tuladhar has been working in materials chemistry at Department of Chemistry, Imperial College London since October 2009. Before joining Imperial, she did her PhD with thesis titled “Charge Injection and Magneto-transport Studies in Small Molecule Organic Light Emitting Diodes” at Queen Mary, University of London, under supervision of Prof William Gillin.  In her study, she investigated small molecules such as tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) of  Aluminium (Alq3), Gallium (Gaq3) and Indium ( Inq3) as potential OLED materials and alkaline metal quinolines such as (Mqs) (M=Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs) as electron Injection Interface layer as an alternative material to existing LiF electron injection layer for OLEDs.

She is currently working on the screening of wide range of organic materials for applications on organic solar cells. Her interests include understanding the role of different interface materials at cathode and anode interfaces in order to improve the performance of the charge extractions and injections in solar cells and organic light emitting diodes respectively. In addition to that she is a specialist on the device fabrication training for new comers and doctoral training (DTC) students of Centre of Plastics Electronics (CPE) and taking responsibilities towards managing the Cleanroom in the Chemistry department and Durrant Group's research facilities.
