Summary

I am currently involved in a research project focused on Alzheimer's disease using mouse models. Our research aims to enhance the quality of sleep, particularly REM sleep, by developing and implementing cutting-edge neurotechnology. This technology will be employed to selectively activate sleep-related brain circuits. Our experimental approach encompasses a diverse range of techniques, including electronics and electronic circuit design methods, optogenetics, and behavioral experiments involving animals.

This project has broader implications for understanding the effects of sleep disturbances on overall health in the context of healthy aging and dementia. We are also conducting new investigations to determine whether enhancing sleep can alleviate the symptoms associated with dementia.
