Summary

Dr Pinelopi Kyvelou is Lecturer in Structural Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London. She is engaged in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, while she is also providing consultancy services for the construction industry.

Dr Kyvelou's research expertise lies in the areas of testing, numerical modelling and development of design guidance for steel structures, with a focus on metallic 3D printed structural members and composite cold-formed steel systems. Pinelopi was a key member of the team that worked on the structural testing and safety assessment of the world’s first metal 3D printed bridge, the MX3D Bridge, for which she led the computational modelling.

Dr Kyvelou has been awarded a PhD degree from Imperial College London while she also holds an MSc degree in Earthquake Engineering from Imperial College London and a diploma in Civil Engineering (MEng equivalent) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
