Priya Wells is a Senior Research Associate of the Transport Strategy Centre (TSC) within the Centre for Transport Studies at Imperial College London. Priya is currently the Project Manager for the Community of Metros (CoMET and Nova) groups, consisting of 40 international metro organisations worldwide.
Priya also project managed "The Operator's Story" research collaboration between the World Bank, TSC and the Community of Metros. This project identifies governmental and operational factors that influence metro success through detailed case studies about 11 major international metro organisations. This project will assist governments and authorities in making sound long-term decisions for metro development and operations. Priya has also produced two case studies for the International Bus Benchmarking Group (IBBG) and small studies for the International Suburban Rail Benchmarking Group (ISBeRG).
Prior to joining the TSC in 2016, Priya worked at Transport for London where she performed capacity and impact assessments of major surface transport schemes and infrastructure projects. She also led the development of long-term concept design for surface transport interventions in London’s housing growth areas. During her time on the Transport Planning graduate scheme, Priya worked on real-time public transport and event operations in central London during the 2012 Olympic Games and on business case development for hub airport capacity in London and the South East.
Priya has a Masters degree in Spatial Planning specialising in Urban Design from the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation.
