Summary
After finishing my Ph.D. at the University of Strathclyde on solid state NMR of crosslinked polymers with Prof. D.C. Sherrington FRS and Prof C.E. Snape FRSE, I started a STA-Royal Society Fellowship in Japan. In Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan I worked with with Prof. I. Ando and afterwards I worked with Prof. Y. Sasanuma (now at the University of Chiba) at the National Institute of Materials & Chemicals, Tsukuba. After completing this fellowship in Sept. 1996, I returned to the UK and worked for a short while at University of Manchester with Dr. F. Heatley on solid state NMR of biodegradable polymers. I was appointed as a lecturer in the Dept. of Chemistry, Imperial College London in 1997. Here, I have successfully established an inter-disciplinary research centre for solid state NMR. I currently collaborate with the Dept of Materials, Chemical Engineering and Cell and Molecular Biology.
