Tropical Cyclones

Tropical cyclones are amongst the most dangerous natural hazards in the world. We study  these fascinating storms from many angles. Our aim is improve the understanding of the physical processes that drive the genesis, intensification , size, and track of tropical cyclones. We analyze observations and build statistical models. We use atmospheric-ocean physics numerical models to study historic cases and idealized simulations.  Through international partnerships we are studying tropical cyclones globally.
