Dr Richard Jabbour is currently an Interventional Cardiology Fellow (ST7) at Harefield Hospital (Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust) and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.
He graduated from Imperial College London in 2009, and underwent junior doctor rotations at Imperial College Healthcare Trust and the Royal Brompton Hospital. Prior to his current appointment, he was awarded a highly competitive NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship (2013-2014). This post enabled him to obtain a BHF PhD Clinical Research Training Fellowship (2016-2019) to undertake basic science research with Professor Sian Harding at the Imperial College for Translational and Experimental Medicine. His PhD involving engineered heart tissue created from induced pluripotent stem cell derived cardiomyocytes, was completed in 2020 and resulted in several awards and prizes and the work carried out received coverage on both national and international media outlets.
His clinical interventional cardiology experience includes a year of training in Milan (2015-2016) under the guidance of Professor Antonio Colombo and Dr Azeem Latib, where he was awarded a MSc in Interventional Cardiology from the San Raffaele Scientific Institute. Prior to his current post at Harefield Hospital, he also completed a 2 year period of training in coronary and structural intervention at Hammersmith Hospital (2019-present).
He has published over 115 peer reviewed publications including original articles, reviews and editorials and has over 15 regional, national and international awards.

He enjoys teaching, is an ALS instructor and also a lecturer at Imperial College London, teaching on both the undergraduate BSc (Cardiovascular Science) and MSc (Genes, Drugs and Stem Cells) courses.
