Summary

Simon is the Department Operations Manager in Mechanical Engineering, supporting the Head of Department and Management Committee in the development and delivery of the Department's strategy and policies. This includes all areas of operational services, team management, and financial management.

He graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BSc in Microbiology, continuing in this field with a PhD from the University of Manchester, investigating the binding properties and production of a group of Neisseria meningitidis outer membrane proteins. He continued onto a Postdoctoral position in Manchester looking at antibiotic resistance, before leaving to join Imperial Consultants, the UK’s leading academic consultancy provider, connecting external organisations to the knowledge and resources of Imperial College London. Simon was a Project Manager and Director of Operations at the Grantham Institute in Imperial College before taking on this current position.
