Research Interests

I study the geodynamics of the Earth''s lithosphere and mantle by using a combination of numerical, dynamic modeling, conversion of thermo-chemical structure into geophysical parameters such as seismic velocity and density, and comparison with various observables. I have applied these tools to a diverse range of topics, ranging from structure of the continental lithosphere, subduction and plume dynamics to seismic hazard

I have given invited talks at many of the leading annual conferences in my field, such as the American Geophysical Union, European Geosciences Union, Goldschmidt Conference of the Geochemical Society, and a Gordon Conference as well as specialist workshops. I have given invited seminars at over a dozen universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Bristol, Leeds, Southampton, Liverpool, Trondheim, Karlsruhe, Rennes, Montpellier, and the Australian National University.
