Summary

Individual Research Project - CIVE97003

Aims

  • To undertake a specific piece of independent research in the form of a critical review, a laboratory- or field-based experimental investigation, or a modelling/numerical analysis project.
  • To demonstrate technical understanding of the Individual Research Project and ability to communicate the results to a wider audience by means of a written paper, oral presentation and visual poster.

Role

Course Leader

Waste Management Engineering - CIVE97015

Aims

To provide detailed knowledge and skills in the management, treatment, disposal and recycling options for solid wastes and the role resource efficiency plays in conserving resources and contributing to a low carbon economy, while focusing on key engineering and technical aspects involved. Understanding of the basic principles of waste and resource management will be supplemented, where appropriate, by practical problem-solving exercises in the context of civil engineering.

Role

Course Leader

Chemistry for Environmental Engineers - CIVE97030

Aims

  • To provide an introductory course in chemistry for environmental engineers, which assumes little prior knowledge of the subject, and, in particular, to develop a basic knowledge of the underlying principles of chemistry that influence environmental processes such as water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control and waste management.

Role

Course Leader

Solid Waste Management - CIVE97048

Aims

To provide detailed knowledge and skills in the management, treatment, disposal and recycling options for solid wastes and the role resource efficiency plays in conserving resources and contributing to a low carbon economy, while focussing on key engineering and technical aspects involved.

Role

Lecturer

Environmental Engineering - CIVE96012

Aims

This module aims to provide knowledge and skills in the design of drinking water supply and treatment works, wastewater collection and treatment systems, and waste and resource management. Understanding of the basic principles will be supplemented, where appropriate, by practical problem-solving exercises in the context of civil engineering.

Role

Lecturer

Environmental Engineering Research Dissertation - CIVE97056

Aims

The aim of the Research Dissertation is to undertake a specific piece of independent research in the form of a critical review, a laboratory- or field-based experimental investigation, or a modelling/numerical analysis project.

Role

Lecturer
