Summary

Samia Hasan has extensive primary care experience having worked as a GP for the past 14 years. The roles presently held by Dr Hasan are clinical, academic, research, strategic/leadership and commissioning.  She is a GP Partner at Parkview Practice. Her primary interest is to listen to patients and provide best evidence based care for their particular needs. She is a Programme Director for the Imperial GP Training Scheme which means she jointly runs the teaching programme at Imperial College for young doctors who are training to be GPs. She is passionate about teaching and patient care and thus ensuring that future doctors are able to connect with patients and understand not just their medical but psychosocial needs also. Dr Hasan is also the Primary Care Speciality Lead at the NIHR Clinical Research Network. This is the research delivery arm of the NHS, supporting a portfolio of over 5,000 clinical research studies.  The aim is to improve research activity in primary care/community to improve quality of care. She is also C2C Clinical Lead, Imperial College Health Partners. In addition, she is H&F Co-Opted CCG Board Member. As a commissioner, she fully understands the challenges and opportunities facing primary care today. Her success in achieving these goals is through partnership and engagement with patients and hence works with local communities.
