Summary

Summary

I am Communications Manager at the Grantham Institute - Climate Change and Environment, at Imperial College London.

My role is to organise publications, news and events about climate and environmental research at Imperial. I also coordinate communications and public engagement activities for Grantham Institute staff, students and affiliates.

I joined Imperial in December 2010 as Research Media Officer for the Faculty of Natural Sciences, becoming Research Events Manager from October 2013, managing research activites at the Imperial Festival and the public events programme.

I have reported on College news and activities for the the Imperial College Podcast and one of the many voices behind the Research Communications group's Twitter alter-ego, @ImperialSpark.

Before joining Imperial, I worked in various science communications roles at Queen Mary University of London, the Science Media Centre during its time at the Royal Institution, and the Grant Museum of Zoology at UCL.

I have a BSc in Ecogical and Environmental Biology from UCL and a PG Cert in Public Relations from the Charter Institute of Public Relation (CIPR).

I'm Honorary Treasurer of Stempra - the national association for science public relations professionals and I'm Operations Manager of Imperial 600, the College's LGBT Equality Advisory Group.

You can chat to me on Twitter about science, cycling, London and cats at @littlesimon or I'm also on LinkedIn.
