I am a Reader in Statistics in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London, an Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health at Imperial College London and a Turing Fellow.

I have held positions at Imperial College, University of Bristol and Brunel University. I completed my PhD in Statistics under the supervision of Prof. Jim Smith at the University of Warwick.

My research interests include Bayesian clustering methods and spatio-temporal models.

Currently I am working on the following areas:

  • Bayesian spatio-temporal modelling, with a focus on the modelling of data with spatially misaligned areas;
  • Bayesian spatio-temporal modelling of consumer or service demand data;
  • Dirichlet process mixture models, in particular in relation to the R package that I maintain, PReMiuM.

I am always looking for creative and brilliant people, including PhD students, to join my team! You can email me at

More about me on my webpage.
