Summary

I am an Associate Professor in Astrophysics in the Department of Physics at Imperial College London, as well as a Visiting Professor in the School of Earth and Planetary Sciences (SEPS) at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in India.

My research interests are in planet formation and protoplanetary discs; star formation and accretion discs; stellar and planetary atmospheres and evolution; stellar activity and angular momentum evolution; and exobiology. I pursue research in these topics through a combination of theory, magneto-hydrodynamical numerical simulations, and observations spanning ultraviolet to radio wavelengths.

Prior to joining Imperial, I was a NASA Spitzer Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. I received my PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, and BA in Astronomy from Harvard University.

Besides research in astrophysics, I am also involved in climate change efforts in India; hobbies include natural history, entomology, hiking and linguistics.
