Summary

I am the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator for the Departments of Earth Science and Engineering (ESE) and Mechanical Engineering (MechEng). You can find me in either CAGB 577 or RSM G.31. I have 3 years of experience delivering EDI initiatives, projects and events in higher education. I have experience delivering projects on a multitude of equality initiatives. Initiatives includes:

  • Equality Impact Assessments
  • Tackling bullying, harassment, and sexual violence
  • Various diversity charter marks including Race Equality Charter and Athena SWAN
  • Coordinating full programmes for diversity months and dates including Black History Month, International Women’s Day, LGBTQ History Month and more

I support both departments by facilitating their Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Culture Committees and progressing their EDI strategies. Projects include:

  • Integrating central EDI training into the departments
  • Making the curriculum more inclusive
  • Consulting with staff and students through surveys and focus groups
  • Progressing both departments’ Athena SWAN action plans
  • Making artwork more inclusive at ESE
  • Making fieldtrips more inclusive
  • Developing a user-friendly EDI Handbook

Personal Hobbies:

In my spare time, I enjoy life drawing, film photography and most importantly, trying out new restaurants in London. Life drawing is my guaranteed time away from my screen where I can practice mindfulness. Once life drawing became virtual during the pandemic, I searched for another creative outlet that took me away from a screen. This led me to film photography. I enjoy taking photos without know how they will turn out. Finally, food is my favourite hobby. There are so many wonderful restaurants in London and new ones always popping up. I want to try them all!
