AB - We evaluated the effect of adjunctive intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) on mortality in clindamycin-treated streptococcal toxic shock syndrome patients using a meta-analysis. In association with IVIG, mortality fell from 33.7% to 15.7% (risk ratio 0.46, 95% confidence intervals 0.26-0.83, p=0.010) with remarkable consistency across the single randomised and four non-randomised studies.
