Summary

Sorin has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automatic Transmissions (2007) and a Master’s Degree in Automotive Fuel Economy and Safety (2009) from the Politechnica University of Bucharest, Romania. He is currently carrying out PhD research in the Tribology Group under the supervision of Dr. Tom Reddyhoff. His work is focused on the influence of laser produced surface texture on film thickness and friction force in a convergent-divergent bearing under different lubrication regimes, closely replicating an automotive piston ring-cylinder liner conjunction.
