Summary

Summary

Living systems perform many tasks that have challenged human engineers, including synthesis of complex molecules from simple precursors, self-assembly of three-dimensional structures, adaptation to extreme environments, and information processing using unreliable components and in noisy environments. We are working to rewire and repurpose these natural functions to benefit human well-being in the areas of health, energy, agriculture, and the environment. Please visit the Bayer lab website for more information.
