Summary

Tim received his first degree in Construction Management from UMIST. He then spent seven years working for Costain Engineering and Construction as a Site Manager on a variety of commercial and industrial building projects. He returned to UMIST to study for his Master's degree in Technology Management. After completing his Master's he worked as a researcher at SPRU and Imperial College Business School on a variety of projects looking at the diffusion of new technologies into housing, the evolution of Smart Homes, and new service delivery in the home.

Tim moved from research roles to operational management leading the professional and technical operational teams in Mechanical Engineering and later in Bioengineering. He was seconded out of College to set up the Rosalind Franklin Institute.

Tim is currently responsible for leading operational activities across the Faculty of Engineering.
