Tim received his first degree in Construction Management from UMIST. He then spent seven years working for Costain Engineering and Construction as a Site Manager on a variety of commercial and industrial building projects. He returned to UMIST to study for his Master's degree in Technology Management. After completing his Master's he worked as a researcher at SPRU and Imperial College Business School on a variety of projects looking at the diffusion of new technologies into housing, the evolution of Smart Homes, and new service delivery in the home.
