Summary
Taryn Youngstein is a consultant Rheumatologist at the Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and an honorary clinical senior lecturer at Imperial College London.
She has a specific interest in inflammation and its targeted treatment. Following award of her MD in Amyloidosis and Acute Phase Protein research from the National Amyloidosis Centre, University College London, Taryn was appointed Consultant in Rheumatology at ICHT. She has a clinical and research interest in hyperinflammation syndromes, periodic fever and vasculitis. Taryn is a co-director of the new Imperial College Centre of Excellence in Vasculitis Research and is the Trust-wide Lead for Supported Return to Training, a crucial role in supporting those returning to clinical practice from periods of research, in industry or prolonged periods of leave.
Taryn is a member of the British Society for Rheumatology for which she sits on the COVID-19 CRG and was part of the team creating the national shielding guidance for the immunosuppressed in conjunction with Public Health England. Taryn is also a member of the International Society of Systemic Auto-inflammatory Diseases.
