Module aims:
This module aims at familiarising students with the programming language Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for Microsoft Excel. It covers introductory and intermediate topics to equip students with the basic skills necessary to create VBA projects. The module assumes little or no programming language experience. By the end of the module, students are expected to be able to create macros, custom functions and have a more in-depth knowledge of basic Excel VBA objects: Application, Workbooks, Worksheets and Ranges.

Module aims:
This module builds on the material taught during the Basic VBA module and introduces students to more advanced programming and Excel concepts. The lectures and coursework will focus on data manipulation and visual interfaces. By the end of the module, students are expected to be able to manage large collections of data, create their own form-based applications and have a good command of class objects and collections.

Aims
This compulsory module is split into two parts: Beginners (Lectures 1-5) and Advanced (Lectures 6-9)
Part 1 of the module aims at familiarising students with the programming language Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for Microsoft Excel. It covers introductory and intermediate topics to equip students with the basic skills necessary to create VBA projects. This part of the module assumes little or no programming language experience.
By the end of Part 1, students are expected to be able to create macros, custom functions and have a more in-depth knowledge of basic Excel VBA objects: Application, Workbooks, Worksheets and Ranges.
Part 2 of the module is at advanced level and topics covered will include implementing numerical algorithms in VBA, controls, user forms and collections.
