Summary
Research Area of Focus:
Patient Outcomes in Vascular Surgery
Outcomes in Venous Disease
Randomised Controlled Trials
Currently recruiting trials:
- COMFETTI - Compression after foam sclerotherapy for varicose veins
- MOCA vs CAE - Mechanochemical Ablation versus Cyanoacrylate Occlusion of truncal varicose veins
- FoS vs AP - Foam Sclerotherapy versus Ambulatory Phlebectomy for varicosed tributary veins
- NMES for DPN - Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation For The Treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
- Frailty in Vascular Patients - Assessment of patient frailty in those undergoing vascular surgery.
- NMES for Rehabilitation after Surgery
Clinical Need
Vascular surgery is complex and demanding specialty with highly co-morbid patients. Optimising patients, procedure and techniques is key to improving outcomes.
Aneurysms are an asymptomatic burden of disease, with significant interventions aftercare.
Varicose veins and venous disease is a common and poorly understood condition. Patients suffer extensive quality of life impairments whilst excellent treatments are available.
Our research investigates optimal treatment pathways for patients with vascular conditions.
