Summary
I am a PhD student working on a collaborative project between the Holder lab in the Institute for Reproductive and Developmental Biology (IRDB) and the Glycosciences Laboratory designed to identify glycan-mediated mechanisms governing cytomegalovirus (CMV) and extracellular vesicle (EV) uptake by the human placental cells.
This research aims to better understand CMV pathogenesis and EV biology in the context of human pregnancy and provide insight for designing new pharmacologic interventions that are needed for controlling CMV congenital disease.
