Summary

Dr Vias Markides qualified in 1992 from St Mary's Hospital Medical School and Imperial College, London, having been awarded the University of London Gold Medal. He trained in Cardiology at St Mary's, St Thomas' and Hammersmith Hospitals.

He was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in arrhythmias  at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust in 2002. He led the arrhythmia service between 2005 and 2014 as clinical lead and then Arrhythmia care group Chair.

Dr Markides is currently the Director of the Heart Division at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
