Dr Shi currently studies (supra)molecular chirality and related physical phenomena. Having trained as a microelectronics and RF engineer by first degree and further as a solid-state physicist through his studies to date, his interest percolates through several interfaces of chemical physics and materials chemistry concerning carbon-based semiconducting materials. As an engineer at heart, he aspires to showcase relevant emergent (chir)optoelectronic devices and elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms at play. Taking a methodical and in-depth approach to research, he aims for a select set of scientific deliverables of originality, rigour, and lasting impact.
