Business Plan Tutorial

To help our MRes students develop a quality and effective business plan, Ugur Taniverdi, a student in Firat Guder’s research group who is currently in the process of starting his own business based on a scientific advance in his field led a tutorial session on how to write a business plan. 

Steps after MRes

PEM-MRes students attended an informal “Steps after MRes” hour where Prof Ji-Seon Kim, Prof Martyn McLachlan and Dr Piers Barnes shared hints on tips from their experience on anything from applying for a PhD to making an application stand out from the crowd.

Science Communication Training

MRes students took part in Science Communication training to hone their presentation skills ahead of their mid-project review presentations in June and their final MRes presentations in September. The course covered:

• Preparing to deliver your key message
• Storytelling skills, including structuring and characterisation
• Presentation skills (online and in-person)
• Use of language
• Practice tailoring to different audiences
