Single Mitochondrion Sequencing using Nanoscale Tweezers

Development of Nanotweezer platforms for single cell Analysis

Single cell analysis is crucial in elucidating the genetic diversity of tissues and organs to aid the accurate design of disease models and patient-specific therapies. My research at Imperial College is focused on developing new single molecule manipulation platforms for real-time analysis and perturbation of living cells. This platforms can enable the analysis of transcriptional profile and function of individual organelles in cells to facilitate the selection of most appropriate preventative and therapeutic intervention tailored to the needs of individual patients. Furthermore, this method will help to understand disease mechanisms and characterise the effects of drug treatment.
