A 360° review is a valuable and rare opportunity to receive feedback from your direct reports, your line manager, peers and stakeholders and compare this with your own estimate of your capabilities and behaviours.
The 360° review is directly based upon Imperial Expectations – the seven statements that articulate how Imperial expects its leaders, managers and supervisors to behave. It is currently used across a broad range of development programmes within the College.
The 360° review is administered on our behalf by an external company Amazure and they will contact you directly and ask you to provide the names and email addresses of the people you want to participate in your 360°. Feedback is required from:
- Your line manager(S)
- Direct reports
- Stakeholders – people who are impacted by your work
You are looking to gather views from a range of people – between 9-12 people in total.
The questionnaire usually takes about 20 minutes to complete. Responses are anonymous and free form comments are reproduced verbatim. You will need to identify suitable responders and seek their agreement to participate. It is best to explain that it is part of your development and that you would value their participation.
During Leading Successful Teams we allocate time for you to read through the collated report and discuss its implications with the course tutors and others on the course in the spirit of learning and development. Coaching is available through the Coaching Academy for those who want to further explore how best to integrate the 360° feedback into their leadership and management practice.
