What is Panopto?
Panopto is used to record lectures, events and learning resources at Imperial College.
It allows for the simultaneous capture and playback of audio, video and software applications (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint). These recordings can then be shared in a variety of ways during or after the presentation.
Recordings are made through equipment in many rooms and lecture theatres across Imperial’s different campus locations or through a personal device.
For more information go to the Imperial College Panopto Site.
Who should attend
All staff members who are interested in using Panopto or improving their Panopto skill set.
Please note, this session does not cover training for the Videographer role and making Scheduled Recordings in Panopto. Please contact the ICT Service Desk for more information on Videographer Training.
By the end of the session you will know:
- Make recordings with Panopto using the Personal Recorder
- Organise and edit Panopto recordings
- Manage and share Panopto recordings and folders
We encourage attendees to bring their own personal device (a laptop, for example) for use in the session.
The device should fulfil the following requirements:
- Built in camera
- Built in microphone
- Admin access permission to the device (to install the Personal Recorder)
