Imposter syndrome can be defined as a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success. 'Imposters' suffer from chronic self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that override any feelings of success or external proof of their competence.
This session aims to equip you with the theory, research, and tools to understand the phenomenon of Imposter Syndrome, how it manifests, and ways to manage it.
By the end of the session, delegates will have:
- Defined the concept of Imposter Syndrome based on relevant research and evidence to understand it and how it can manifest in limiting behaviour
- Explored the value of developing psychological safety within networks and teams to create a positive, constructive working environment
- Discussed the importance of emotion management and constructive ways to do this
- Identified individual actions to take forward to reduce the negative impact of Imposter Syndrome
