Who should attend
Nominated staff and postgraduate students on all College campuses who may need to contain a situation before referring to the Health Centre, Accident and Emergency or Urgent Care Centre as appropriate.
This qualification lasts for three years after which you should attend this course again to re-qualify.
During these three years, it is highly recommended that you attend the course First Aid Refresher + AED to practice your skills at least 18 months before your qualification expires.
Skills on the course are examined continuously by the trainer. There is also a multiple-choice test set by the national body First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). Staff attending should have good English language skills to pass this exam. Participants should be physically able to take part in these sessions and dress appropriately.
Our First Aiders are a valuable College resource, and we want to ensure that all places are based on College risk assessment.
It is the responsibility of First Aiders to ensure that they re-qualify before their Certificates expire.
