We aim to contribute towards the attraction and appeal of Imperial as a global destination for incoming ECRs, widening the pool of Imperial ECR talent.
List
We will achieve this by:
- Working with experts across Imperial to design and deliver outstanding support for a broad range of ECRs, including under-represented groups, individuals moving through linear and a diverse range of non-linear career transitions, and those moving between levels. We hope that this will enhance career mobility and widen participation.
- Embedding and highlighting ECRI’s provision within programme level and institutional level grant bids, contributing towards the attractiveness of Imperial as a global leader of ECR development. Working with PIs, we will articulate and showcase the delivery of Imperial’s bespoke training and development opportunities and broader support available to both research staff and research degree students.
- Advocating for recruitment and selection processes that widen participation to the broadest talent pool of ECRs, including those from non-traditional backgrounds, those outside the research environment, those from under-represented groups and those returning from career breaks.
- Influencing and contributing towards Imperial and sector support for under-represented groups of ECRs.
- Working with funders, industrial partners and Government to ensure that an ECR pathway at Imperial College London is open to the widest range of global talent.
