In this highly interactive course, based on group discussions, you will explore the critical elements and techniques to produce an engaging and effective poster. You will analyse the importance of the audience and how to use graphics as a tool to create posters analysing some sample posters to consolidate your learning.

Course Information

In preparation for the course you will need to prepare a draft poster (duration: about 1 hour). You are not asked to add content, but only to create an engaging title, a good layout and a balanced colour-combination. You will receive a handout with guidelines to prepare it and you will need to send it the day before the course to the tutor: your draft poster will be used for an activity during the course.

You will receive the credit by completing all pre-course activities and participating in all course activities.

  • The deadline for registration is 1 week before the webinar to allow the preparation of the draft poster.
  • This course does not cover the use of software.
  • This course contains basics to design posters.
  • You are required to have a headphone set with microphone to interact with the group.
  • You will need to upload your draft poster by 17h the day before the live course (you will receive details from the tutor by email). The tutor will add their feedback after the live course.
