If you want to find out about postdoctoral life, the best source of information is probably the postdocs you will be working with in your department. However, you can also make use of the College’s Postdoc and Fellows Development Centre. Many research students consider postdoctoral work, but you should take the opportunity during your study to build up a good picture of what postdoctoral research involves, and to judge if it is right for you.

The Centre has a specialist team who support the career development of postdoctoral researchers across the College, and run many courses and events continually. There is a PostDocs Rep Network, with postdocs from many research groups and departments included, so finding out who the rep is in your department may give you an insight to what’s involved.
