Arriving to halls

Can family or friends help me move in?

Yes, your family and friends can help you move in. However, there will be a maximum of two people per family (including yourself) allowed in the hall.

Will face coverings be required in halls of residence?

In order to protect one another, face coverings will be essential in all communal and public areas in halls of residence, including receptions, kitchens, social spaces and shared bathrooms. You won’t be required to wear a face covering in your own private bedroom. You can find out more about where else a face covering is essential on the Keeping You Safe webpages.

Am I allowed guests in my halls of residence?

In order to ensure everyone is able to safely and comfortably adhere to social distancing, guests will not be allowed in any halls of residence, including Imperial students from another hall of residence. This policy will be regularly reviewed - we will only allow guests when it is safe to do so.

Do I need to register with a doctor? How do I do that?

If you have moved from home to take up your place at Imperial you will need to register with a new doctor (also known as a General Practitioner or GP) so that you can access NHS healthcare. It’s important that you register with a doctor soon after you arrive – don’t wait until you are sick, as this could delay your access to treatment.

Any Imperial student can register for a place at the Imperial College Health Centre at South Kensington Campus, however you can also be resigstered at a GP surgery close to your halls of residence.

The Student Support Zone has more details about registering for a doctor.

Car parking

We do not accept any responsibility for any parking infringements that may occur whilst you are at our halls.
