The Research Computing Skills Programme consists of a range of courses in research computing and data science, all of which aim to enable doctoral students to complete their research successfully and effectively.  The courses are facilitated by the Graduate School staff, academics and GTAs.  All tutors have an academic background and have been exposed to multiple research computing and data science projects in their discipline.

The programme aims to:

  • Complement the research support that doctoral researchers receive locally
  • Provide high quality and supportive training experience in a range of programming languages and tools
  • Enhance doctoral researchers’ ability to analyse data using a variety of statistical and machine learning methods
  • Develop doctoral researchers’ capacity to conduct research effectively
