Undergraduate student.

Application deadlines and dates you need to know.

If you submit your completed application by the relevant deadline, it's guaranteed to be given equal consideration. However, you need to make sure you include all your personal details and your academic reference.

We recommend giving yourself plenty of time to complete your application as there’s quite a bit to do.

You don’t need to complete it all at once, as you can save it as you go. It's worth making sure you have enough time to spend on each element – particularly your personal statement.

Key application deadlines for 2022 entry

Key deadline dates

7 September 2021

If you're applying for an undergraduate course starting in 2022, you can start your application now on UCAS Hub and submit it from 7 September 2021.

15 October 2021 at 18.00 (UK time)

This is the deadline for any 2022 entry application that includes courses from Oxford and Cambridge, or for most courses in medicine, veterinary medicine/science, and dentistry.

26 January 2022 at 18.00 (UK time)

This is the deadline for the majority of 2022 entry courses.

31 March 2022

We will aim to give a decision by this date for applications received by 26 January 2022.

Course-related admissions tests

If you apply for an Imperial course that requires an admissions test – like Medicine which requires you to take the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) or Mathematics which requires Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT)  – you’ll need to check:

  • the registration deadline for the test
  • when the test takes place and what it includes

To see if your course requires you to sit an admissions test, check the entry requirements on the relevant course page.

Don’t leave checking until the last minute as you may end up missing the deadline.

Most admissions tests happen between August and November the year before you're due to start your studies – some even earlier, before you’ve sent your UCAS application.

Missed the deadline?

Late applications are accepted by UCAS throughout the remainder of the admissions cycle, but late applications will be considered by universities at their own discretion.
If you miss the deadline for our courses, there is no guarantee that you will be given the same level of consideration as applications that are submitted by the relevant deadline.

Offer condition deadlines

If we make you an offer, you will need to have fulfilled all conditions before the relevant deadline.

For more information, see submitting your offer conditions.

Some conditions may have earlier deadlines. These include:

  • Proof of English language ability
  • ATAS clearance
  • Verification of qualifications already obtained
  • Verification of certain high school qualifications
  • DBS clearance for MBBS applicants
  • Submissions of Minor's declaration form

We let you know your offer condition deadlines when we make you an offer.

If you submit any of your offer conditions after these deadlines your place may not be confirmed. We recommend that you submit your offer conditions as soon as you meet them.

If you need ATAS clearance, we recommend you apply for it from 1 April.
