When to apply
Key Dates and Deadlines
UCAS Apply will be live from the May onwards in any given year for applicants for the following year of entry. UCAS will then commence making applications available to universities from the early September for the entry in the following year.
The deadline for submitting an application to the College will depend on the programme and other universities you are applying to:
- If you are applying to Oxford or Cambridge as well as Imperial, you should apply by the 15 October 2020
- If you are applying for at least one clinical programme, such as Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine, you must apply by 15 October 2020
- All other applications must be submitted by 15 January 2021
Please note if you are applying for a programme that requires you to take the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) or Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT) you must have registered to take this test by the relevant deadlines, which can be checked on the Cambridge Admissions Testing website. We are unable to consider applicants to Medicine if you have not registered for the BMAT test.
If you submit your application by the above deadlines your application will be given equal consideration. If you submit your application after the deadlines, it is unlikely we will be able to consider your application. Applicants are advised to apply as early as possible and therefore we recommend you start researching your university choices well ahead of the deadlines, in order to give yourself time to submit a fully considered application. It is in the best interest of all applicants to apply well before the 15 January 2021 deadline. UCAS accepts that some late applicants, especially from outside the UK, may find this difficult. Late applications are accepted by UCAS throughout the remainder of the admissions cycle, but late applications will be considered by institutions at their own discretion, and there is no guarantee that they will be given the same level of consideration as applications that are submitted by the application deadlines.
Other Dates to Consider
If you are made an offer to study at Imperial College London, you will need to have fulfilled all conditions no later than the 25 August 2021. Particular offer conditions may be subject to earlier deadlines, which usually fall in July. These include, but may not be limited to: English conditions, ATAS clearance, verification of qualifications already obtained and verification of certain high school qualifications, DBS clearance for MBBS applicants, submissions of Minor's declaration forms.
We will confirm relevant offer condition deadlines as part of any offer we make. We strongly recommend that you apply for ATAS clearance (where this is required) well in advance of the deadline, and by the end of May at the latest. If you submit any of your offer conditions after these deadlines your place may not be confirmed. We strongly advise that you submit your offer conditions as soon as you meet them.
