Explore South Kensington

If you're coming to one of our open days why not take the chance to explore the local area?

Imperial's South Kensington Campus is located in the heart of London's museum district, with three world class museums all within 10 minutes' walk:

All of these museums have free entry.

Royal Albert Hall

Our students’ union sits in the shadow of the magnificent Royal Albert Hall, where all of our students graduate. It's possible to take tours of the Hall which last around an hour.

Royal Parks

There's plenty of green space to explore with the world famous Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens right on our doorstep:

Hyde Park

Kensington Gardens

Kensington Gardens is home to Kensington Palace, the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Other attractions in the Gardens include the Serpentine Galleries, the Albert Memorial, the Peter Pan statue and the Diana memorial playground.

Hyde Park

Neighbouring Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in London. It covers a massive 350 acres and, like Kensington Gardens, is free for the public to enjoy. Hyde Park also houses a number of famous attractions including: the Diana memorial fountain, Speakers' Corner and boating on the Serpentine Lake.

Travel to the West End

South Kensington is served by three Tube lines (District, Circle and Piccadilly). A journey into London's West End – famous for its fantastic range of theatres and shopping – will take less than 10 minutes. A 15-minute walk to nearby Knightsbridge station on the Piccadilly line will also take you to the doors of the world famous Harrods store.
